Your guide to free family fun!

Whether you’re walking, riding, or rolling there is something for everyone at Discover, Play, Bikeway! Follow our tips for the day or create your own adventure between Mount Torrens and Oakbank. You don’t need to ride or walk the whole bikeway to enjoy the day, you can join anywhere and do as much or as little as you like!

If you’re taking photos don’t forget to tag us so we can see your photos!  @adelaidehillscouncil #adelaidehillscouncil #discoverplaybikeway #adelaidehills

Starting at Mount Torrens
Start your day from Mount Torrens (free parking) and let the kids roam on the Mount Torrens Playground (it’s a kid’s paradise!) while you browse the markets on the oval. Check out the food including a barbeque, coffee, market stalls, arts and crafts, and more!

When you’re ready to roll, hit the Amy Gillett Bikeway for the 8km ride to our next hub of activities in Charleston. If you’re not in a rush and up for lunch or a sip along the way, be sure to take advantage of the Lobethal Road Winery offer of 15% off six or more take home bottles, including free delivery.

Next stop, Charleston for food stalls, music and fun!
There will be a petting zoo and roving entertainers. This is a perfect spot to take a break, refuel with a coffee and some food, and let the kids play on the state-of-the-art playground or give the learner BMX track a go.

Now to Woodside…
But first, a detour to Melba’s chocolate factory is a must! A chocoholic’s delight and a well-deserved treat for the cyclists, you’ll receive a free choccie frog with any purchase. Not a sweet tooth? Why not make a stop at Barristers Block Winery, relax on the lawn and enjoy a special $35 Pizza and wine tasting flight, $25 kids meal deal, with a drink and ice cream, and 10% off all take home six packs!

The 5km ride from Charleston to Woodside will reward you with a hive of activity!
As you roll through the township of Woodside and reach the Woody Trails Bike Track, the little tackers will be entertained by roving performers, story reading, free face painting, arts and crafts!

While in Woodside, visit the RAA pop up for free bike checks, RAA bike merchandise, helmet fittings plus road and bike education. Be sure to say hello to the SAPOL road safety mascot Jeff, who will be making new friends and soaking up the sunshine.
